Pippa Middleton might be having a royal wedding of her own in the near future!

There are conflicting reports as to whether Kate Middleton's kid sister is engaged to her banker beau Nico Jackson. Sources tell Us Weekly that Nico proposed to Kate's kid sister on an early December trip to a resort in Agra, India. But a source close to Pippa tells the Daily Mail Nico has not popped the question—yet.

The sources claiming Pippa is already engaged are quite specific, saying Nico's proposal at Oberoi Amarvilas (the luxury getaway) "was exactly how he planned it...Very romantic and grand!" They also report that the maybe-bride-to-be, 30, and her feasible fiancé, 36, plan to wed in 2014 at the Middleton family's Bucklebury estate.

As for the source saying there is no ring on Pippa's finger just yet? They don't see it as a matter of if she and Nico will say "I do," but when. A friend of the couple told the Mail on Sunday that Pippa and Nico "made a pact to travel to lots of exotic destinations before walking down the aisle to start a family," adding that "there will be lots of trips like this [their early December trip to India] in coming months."

BBC royal correspondent Peter Hunt doesn't foresee a wedding in the immediate future either. He tweeted Dec. 18, "Contrary to some reports, Pippa Middleton hasn't become engaged."

Really, though, these rumors have been swirling around the twosome since September, all of which (so far) have not been confirmed. We do know, though, that the potential spouses have been dating since late 2012, and both Pippa and Nico hit it off with the other's family.

Nico's mom Ulrike Jackson told the Daily Mail earlier this year she was "very pleased" with her son and Pippa's relationship. "They are happy, and that is all that matters," she added. "As long as my children are happy, then I am happy."

And Nico's doing pretty well with the Middleton clan, too. He was one of the first people to meet Prince George at Kensington Palace back in July, just two days after Kate gave birth to her and Prince William's precious heir.

It appears like things between Pippa and Nico are heading in the right direction. But until Ms. Middleton makes an engagement announcement in the midst of critiquing winter whites for Vanity Fair, her relationship status remains a bit of a mystery. Fortunately Kate's already got her prebaby body back, so she can be ready on a moment's notice to pull a Pippa on her little sister's big day!
