Watch: Simon Cowell Sounds Off on Son's Future

Simon Cowell knows a thing or two about working with kids and teens hoping to make it in the business.

But what if his and Lauren Silverman's future son decides he wants to be a singer? The dad-to-be told E! News after the Dec. 12 X Factor eliminations, "As long as he signs a lifelong recording contract with me, I'd be happy with that!"

And even though his girlfriend only has one baby on board, Simon joked that based on the amount of infant clothing they've amassed already, he feels "like I'm having a hundred kids right now!"

NEWS: Simon Cowell insists he's "not brilliant" with babies

"There's that many [clothes]," he said, noting that many of them were gifts at Lauren's Dec. 8 baby shower. "I wasn't there," he reminded us. "I wasn't invited, literally!" (Don't feel too bad for Simon—he did get a massage while the festivities were going on without him!)

Simon and Lauren decided together, though, on a name for their little one. "I'm not going to say what it is yet, but I'm happy," he told E! News last month. As for whether or not the moniker has any family ties? He cheekily replied, "You'll have to wait and see!"

Fair enough. We'd like to see baby Cowell named after any one of the One Direction boys!
