The expecting singer is hosting her first-ever holiday special for NBC on Wednesday night, titled Kelly Clarkson's Cautionary Christmas Music Tale and is calling on some of her famous friends for a little help. Shelton's task? Well, it doesn't involve him lending his swoon-inducing vocals!
In an exclusive promo for the highly anticipated special, The Voice coach is hard at work ironing and sewing Clarkson's clothes for the big event, which isn't exactly what he had in mind...
Shelton's helping hand when it comes to Clarkson's special could be seen as repayment for Clarkson's stint as a guest mentor for his contestants on The Voice.
Of course, Shelton isn't the only familiar face viewers can expect to see pop up during the one-hour special: Reba McEntire, Trisha Yearwood, Whoopi Goldberg, Robin Williams, William Shatner and many more will appear to celebrate the holiday season with Clarkson, who will also show off her comedic chops. (Though, anyone who watched her appearance on CBS' sitcom The Crazy Ones already knows Clarkson is quite the comedienne.)
The special is a comedic and musical take on a traditional Christmas morality tale that will feature festive tunes off of Clarkson's new Christmas album, Wrapped in Red. (Which is totally awesome, by the way.)
Kelly Clarkson's Cautionary Christmas Music Tale airs Wednesday at 10 p.m. on NBC.
(E! and NBC are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
