Adam Shankman Checks Into Rehab, Is on "Journey to Recovery"

Filmmaker and So You Think You Can Dance judge is in treatment, according to his rep, a day after directing the TrevorLive benefit in Hollywood

A day after being all smiles on the red carpet, Adam Shankman is in rehab.

The 49-year-old director of Hairspray and Rock of Ages "is currently seeking treatment in a rehabilitation center," his rep confirmed Monday. "His friends and family support him and wish him well on his journey to recovery." 

No other details were forthcoming at this time.

Shankman, who also frequents So You Think You Can Dance as a judge and has directed several episodes of Glee, served as executive producer and director of last night's TrevorLive event benefiting the suicide-prevention nonprofit The Trevor Project just last night at the Hollywood Palladium.

The evening's entertainment included Adam Lambert, Amber RileyMegan HiltyCheyenne Jackson, Darren Criss, Mark Salling, Sia and Beth BehrsNina Dobrev, Jenna Ushkowitz and Chris Colfer were just a few of the familiar faces in attendance.

As the evening got under way, Jane Lynch was honored with the Trevor Hero Award and Kathy Griffin appeared as Special Celebrity Host.

And we bet everyone involved is wishing Shankman all the best.
