Grab a pen and paper now because there's some big news coming your way!

Despite the highly anticipated X-Men: Days of Future Past not even being out in theaters yet (and it won't be on the big screen until May 23, 2014), director Bryan Singer has already revealed the release date for the next film, X-Men: Apocalypse!

So when can we expect to see it?! "#Xmen #Apocalypse 2016!" Singer tweeted.

But to help you out on your future planning, 20th Century Fox confirms to E! News that the exact wide release date will be May 27, 2016. You're welcome. Now plan accordingly.

There haven't been any other announcements regarding the flick, including whether or not Singer will direct again, however considering he's the one who broke the news on Twitter (and has been connected to the franchise for so long), it seems likely he will continue his role in the director's seat.

Currently, the cast and crew are working on the seventh installment in the X-Men series. "As excited as [the fans] are, I can tell you it'll exceed those expectations. I feel it's that good. I'm very, very excited about it," Hugh Jackman tells us, adding that Singer "has knocked it out of the park."

Days of Future Past reunites Jackman with his castmates from the original X-Men trilogy including Patrick Stewart, Ian McKellen and Halle Berry and brings them all together with the ensemble of 2011's prequel, X-Men: First Class, for which he did a brief cameo. The latter features James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender and Jennifer Lawrence playing younger versions of seminal X-Men characters.

Are you so excited for the big announcement?! Sound off in the comments!
