Calling all girly girls!

If you're fond of purple and pink, you'll be delighted to know that Pantone has officially announced that radiant orchid is the color of the year for 2014.

The paint industry leader routinely forecasts the most popular shade for the upcoming year, and we were pleasantly surprised to hear that this feminine hue would be hot for the months ahead.

Undoubtedly alluring, the gorgeous color is sure to please in a number of ways.

"An enchanting harmony of fuchsia, purple and pink undertones, radiant orchid inspires confidence and emanates great joy, love and health. It is a captivating purple, one that draws you in with its beguiling charm," said Leatrice Eiseman, executive director of the Pantone Color Institute in a release.

Best of all, the beautiful hue is simply stunning especially when it comes to selecting fabulous new fashion and beauty items for the new year.

Orchid looks lovely on all skin tones, and we're particularly excited to play with purples on our eyes for a brilliant pop of color that's not too overwhelming.

Try Laura Mercier's caviar eye color stick or Buxom's eye shadow palette for a fresh twist to your boring earth tone shades.

We also love a fresh coat of pretty lavender nail polish in the midst of winter months.

As for accessories, we've selected a dazzling pair of gemstone earrings from MissesDressy.com, for a subtle pop of color, in addition to a statement bag by Mulberry, or a pretty pair of suede heels by Brian Atwood.

And finally, for a truly special style statement, try on Hale Bob's velvet burnout dress in the sumptuous color.

You'll feel flirty and feminine in seconds flat!

What do you think of radiant orchid as the color of the year?
