Today is the 80th anniversary of the repealing of prohibition. Today is also the premiere of The NBC's Sound of Music Live!, starring that girl who won American Idol and Bill from True Blood.
Coincidence? We think not.
Thus we present the rules for E!'s Official Sound of Music Live! Drinking Game. Because if Carrie Underwood is going to play an Austrian nun, you're going to want to be at least a little liquored up.
Remember: If you start to think your curtains look like a smart wardrobe choice, you're on your way! Keep drinking!
Take A Sip:
Every time someone yodels.
Every time the Captain blows his whistle.
Every time you see a Nazi.
Every time something unintentionally funny happens.
Take Two Sips:
Every time someone's accent falters.
Every time a song sounds twangier than you remember.
Every time a kid messes up.
Take Three Sips:
Every time an adult messes up.
Every time Carrie Underwood is a little too sexy to be a nun.
Every time Vampire Bill looks like he might eat one of the von Trapp kids.
Take a Shot:
For each favorite thing that Carrie Underwood forgets.
Every time something is different than the original.
Every time you find yourself checking the clock during the three hour broadcast.
Every time someone yells at the TV (i.e. "WHY DID THEY REMAKE THIS?")
If someone ad-libs an extended high note, drink until the note is finished.
If someone messes up and Carrie keeps singing, drink until that person corrects his or herself or is removed from the stage.
Throughout "Do-Re-Mi," waterfall in a round, with each person drinking through one line of the chorus.
You make it all the way to the end. You've earned it.
The Sound of Music Live! special airs tonight at 8 p.m. on NBC.
