She's back, and she looks pissed.
Joe Carroll's (James Purefoy) No. 1 fan has emerged for season two, and we have the exclusive first look photo to prove it. Last time we saw Emma (Valorie Curry), she was watching reports of Joe's death in a diner in Alabama, and this was after she drugged Ryan Hardy (Kevin Bacon) as part of Joe's big showdown with his FBI nemesis. It was assumed that she was the one to take over Joe's cult-leader status in the event of his death. Except we all know he's not dead so…now what?
Based on the photo, Emma has changed up her appearance (gone is the wig from the season-one finale), in order to allude what is surely a nation-wide womanhunt. We do know that part of season two will deal with Ryan and the FBI finding Emma, as she has the most information about Joe and the cult. Emma also appears to be in some rundown establishment in the pic, so she's either hiding out for the time being or she's headed toward a top secret meeting. With Joe, perhaps? Speculating is fun!
In season two, Ryan's new mission isn't just catching Joe…it's revenge.
"Catching Joe Carroll cost me everything and everyone," Ryan says in a season-two promo. "Now we all want to believe he's dead, but I say he's out there. I'm going to find him and I want revenge."
The Following returns with a two-night season premiere event, beginning on Sunday, Jan. 19 (after the NFC championship game) and continues on Monday, Jan. 20 following the season-one finale of Sleepy Hollow.
