Paul Walker is being remembered for his big heart and love of charity work.
Bill Townsend, an aquaintance of the 40-year-old actor who died in a fiery car crash in L.A. on Saturday, says Walker's Fast & Furious movie-star status did not define the multifaceted talent.
"Paul would always say that acting is just his job but his real loves were his family and his charity and cars," Townsend, who saw Walker on the day of his death, told E! News exclusively over the weekend. "He just loved cars so much and had such a passion, not just for a particular kind of car, the entire world of auto sports."
Townsend added, "He didn't dwell on the films and the movies because for him, that was just his job."
Walker's fatal crash occurred after he and Townsend both attended a Reach Out Worldwide charity event where Walker got to enjoy his passion for sports cars surrounded by pals and fellow car enthusiasts.
"The friends of Paul are mostly going to miss how down to earth he was," Townsend said. "Yesterday, he wasn't signing autographs. He was just out there having fun with the boys. People that have worked with him in Hollywood probably say the same thing, that he was just a really good guy. And I think that's what's going to be most missed about him."
Walker is survived by his 15-year-old daughter, Meadow Walker, who is "still in shock" over her father's sudden and tragic passing.
"Friends have flown in to be with her," a source told E! News earlier today. "She is in OK spirits and dealing with it the best she can for a 15-year-old. She is surrounded by family and friends, and they are trying comfort her and help her get through this. Everyone is taking it hard, but there has been a large outpouring of love and support for the family."
