Fifty Shades of Grey doesn't hit theaters until Feb. 13, 2015, but filming has already commenced in Vancouver, Canada. Jamie Dornan and Dakota Johnson—who play Christian Grey and Anastasia Steele, respectively—were snapped on set for the first time on Dec. 1, 2013. The actors got into character at a café in the city's GasTown District.
It looks like the scene they shot shows Christian asking Ana out for coffee to find out if she's single.
Directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, Fifty Shades of Grey is being adapted from the first novel in author E.L. James popular book trilogy. The movie also stars Luke Grimes, Victor Rasuk, Eloise Mumford, Jennifer Ehle and Max Martini.
This marks the first time that Dornan, 31, and Johnson, 24, have been photographed together since they covered the Nov. 22 issue of Entertainment Weekly. "Obviously, I want to look good naked," Johnson said of prepping for the racy role. "I totally understand now why people exercise, because it kind of f--king feels awesome."
Dornan—a former model whose due to become a father any day—is also paying close attention to how his body looks on the big screen. "I've never felt that Christian needs to be some kind of monster, but I think it's very clear how he conditions himself and looks after himself," the Northern Irishman told the magazine. "I take decent enough care of myself anyway, so obviously I'm gonna up it slightly with training, but we don't have any intention to really bulk up. I don't think it's appropriate."
