The cast and crew of Inside Llewyn Davis were privy to some very top-secret music—like Justin Timberlake's new music!

"While we were working on the movie, Justin would be working on his album, so he would be noodling with the guitar so I got to get a preview of it," says Oscar Isaac, who was nominated on Tuesday for a Film Independent Spirit Award for Best Male Lead for his starring role in Inside Llewyn Davis as an aspiring folk singer in New York's Greenwich Village in 1961.

Did J.T. ask for feedback?

"He was like, 'Should I play this not or should I play that note?'" Isaac cracked. "No! I think the guy knows what he's doing."

We'll also be seeing Isaac in the upcoming In Secret, a drama set in 1860s Paris about a young married woman (Elizabeth Olsen) who has an affair with her husband's friend (Isaac).

Jessica Lange plays Olsen's domineering aunt.

"Jessica Lange was my biggest crush when I was a kid," Isaac said. "I saw King Kong and my dad had just gotten a computer and I wrote her name in every font."

"It was the kind of crush where it hurt a little bit," he continued. "I was a little depressed from it."

Fast-forward to shooting In Secret.

"I was like, 'Don't tell her right away, don't tell her right away,'" Isaac said. "But then I told her within like 30 minutes of meeting her."

We're sure Isaac isn't the first guy to tell her that.

"She didn't mind," he said. "She didn't mind that so much."

Inside Llewyn Davis opens in New York and L.A. on Dec. 6 and in additional cities on Dec. 20. The Film Independent Spirit Awards will be handed out on March 1, 2014.
