Kelly Clarkson may be feeling good about being pregnant, but physically, she's not exactly feeling good right now.

"I don't know why they call it morning sickness because it's like all day and all night," the singer told Savannah Guthrie on Tuesday's Today during her first interview since announcing that she and husband Brandon Blackstock are expecting their first child together. "I'm super excited about being pregnant. I'm just looking forward to the second trimester. They say it's better."

Clarkson went on to say that while she had originally planned on keeping her pregnancy under wraps a little while longer, it just proved to be too difficult.

"I was just dying to tell people, but we were trying to wait until the end of my first trimester...but everybody kept talking about it and I had to cancel something because I've been so ill," the 31-year-old mother-to-be explained. "I didn't want people to think that I'm canceling because I'm lazy or something. So, we just told people. But we had a really good reason."

And even though she admitted it's "way to early to know" the gender of the baby, Clarkson is convinced she's having a girl.

However, she and Blackstock do have both a girl name and a boy name already picked out just in case. But don't expect her to tell you what they are.

"We're not saying because I don't want someone to steal my baby's name," Clarkson said with a laugh.

Fair enough, Kelly. Fair enough.
