Katie Couric has a new gig!

The journalist will be joining Yahoo as Global Anchor in 2014, the company's CEO Marissa Mayer announced on the company's tubmlr page Monday, Nov. 25. There she will "lead a growing team of correspondents at Yahoo News who will cover the world's most interesting stories and newsmakers," wrote Mayer.

But Katie fans, not to worry! Mayer noted that the 56-year-old TV veteran "will continue to host her syndicated daytime talk show" while simultaneously "being the face of Yahoo News and shooting features for our homepage."

Reports last week suggested Couric's predicted Yahoo deal (which became official today) could signal the end of her ABC News contract. The network, however, has yet to directly address Couric's new role at Yahoo or whether Katie will continue another season.

Yahoo execs, though, are certainly excited to have her on board. "I've always respected Katie for her thoughtful, charismatic approach to journalism," Mayer wrote. "From pivotal coverage of natural disasters and historic elections to the Royal Wedding and the Olympic Games, groundbreaking interviews with heads of state and leading tastemakers, her experience is unmatched. Katie is dynamic, savvy and has a way of connecting with viewers that I really admire."

Couric seems excited to join as well, saying in a statement that,  "Joining Yahoo offers a tremendous opportunity to reach people all around the world in the way that they're using and consuming media today."

She's also got a wedding to plan, so it looks like 2014 is going to be a busy year for Couric!
