Earlier this week, the pesky paps got the best of Niall Horan, and today, the boybander is opening up about his recent shutterbug scare.

While touching down at LAX with the members of One Direction, including Zayn Malik, Harry Styles, Louis Tomlinson and Liam Payne, on Tuesday, Nov. 19, the 20-year-old singer and his bandmates were swarmed by screaming fans and overzealous paparazzi, and the photogs got so intense, that Horan was pushed to the ground.

"I hate the paps!!" Horan wrote on Twitter, addressing the incident later that night. "Just got dragged to the floor by some idiot with a camera! could have seen the fans as well, but they messed it all up!"

Horan has since opened up about the incident to E! News, revealing that things got out of hand because the boys wanted to say hi to their fans.

"We came out of this exit and there was, like, loads of paps," the Irish hunk shares. "Like 50, 60 paps and the fans were behind them so obviously we wanted to stop and see the fans because we haven't been to L.A. for a while."

That is, until the photogs and the fans collided, causing major chaos in the terminal.

"They just started getting really aggressive…they started pushing each other, which meant we got pushed," he says. "Then someone pushed me and dragged me to the floor."

Despite the scary incident, the performer insists the 1D hotties don't get too much attention from the paps, unless the press is aware of planned appearance.

"We don't really get that much paparazzi attention," he reveals. "It just kind of happens if they know where we're going to be someplace. Like everyone knew we're going to be at LAX yesterday. We kind of like to keep ourselves to ourselves."

So what's next for the busy boybanders?

Their third studio album, Midnight Memories, is scheduled for release on Nov. 25, and their flick One Direction: This Is Us is coming to Blu-ray and DVD on Dec. 17.

The young stars will also be performing their hit single "Story of My Life" on the X-Factor tonight.
