That is literally the only reason we can come up with to excuse this ensemble... Our apologies to designer Jenny Packham, but the velvet jumpsuit makes The Hunger Games: Catching Fire star look like she just escaped an ancient bottle! Yes, harem pants come in and out of style, but they've never been acceptable for a red carpet affair!
Our issue with the outfit isn't just that it looks like a super fancy Halloween costume. Elizabeth has an incredible frame and yet these baggy pants make her look giant on the bottom. Yes, the intricate beading along the top is the first thing that catches our eye, but then we're forced to see way too much more of it on those giant pants.
We'd love this look if it featured a simple skirt against the peplum bodice, but as is, it just makes us want to rub Elizabeth's genie bottle and wish her a much better dress.
