Adam Levine and Blake Shelton are competitive—and not just on The Voice!

So, it was only natural that Blake was just a teeny bit jealous when his Maroon 5 frontman BFF was named People's 2013 Sexiest Man Alive. On Wednesday, Nov. 20, the country star dropped by The Tonight Show With Jay Leno to poke a little fun at his pretty boy pal.

To begin with, Blake, 37, offered Jay a copy Adam's People issue—only there was a note scribbled on the cover that read: "Jay, Don't you think Blake should have won this? Love, Adam."

Jay wasn't buying Blake's claim that the 34-year-old Sexiest Man Alive himself wrote that note. But when the late-night host started moving along, Blake adorably interrupted, "Wait a minute! You didn't really answer the question."

"I'm trying to be polite," Jay said, before launching into a bit of an awkward question. "Well, I wanna ask you," he started, "Like when you sit next to [Adam], do you find yourself getting aroused?"

Miranda Lambert's husband couldn't help but giggle. "He's got feminine qualities about him," he said. "Absolutely!"

Ha! Jay then aired a clip from The Voice where Adam does, in fact, tell Blake, "You're the sexiest man in my book!"

"I just wanna say, Adam," Blake quipped, "I know you're now Sexiest Man Alive, but I want you to know that I think you're beautiful on the inside." Aw!

Jay—tsk, tsk—tried to turn a sweet moment into something sexual, asking Blake, "You've been inside Adam? That sounds awful."

"Come on, man! This is 2013," the Oklahoma native piped back. "That doesn't sound awful at all."

Amen! Oh, and Blake, for the record, you're pretty darn sexy, too.
