And this is what she and her go-to design house Dior came up with.
The stunning star of The Hunger Games: Catching Fire sort of went out with a fashion whimper in a short-sleeve black wool jacket worn over a light pink knitted bra with lime green detailing that completely covered Lawrence's décolletage but showed a useless triangular-shaped flash of her midriff (though the snakeskin-reminiscent acoutrement did sort of invoke the detailing of Katniss' battle gear in the sequel).
To be fair, the mercury fell below 40 degrees tonight in Manhattan, the 23-year-old actress hadn't been feeling too great and she had to dress up to tape both The Daily Show and Late Show With David Letterman beforehand.
To which, by the way, J.Law wore a more youthful, all-black, rocker-chic ensemble of a leather jacket over an intricate beaded top and a skirt with über-trendy sheer panels.
Oh well, you can't win 'em all. (And wouldn't actual long sleeves have been a better idea anyway? No better time to rock a lady tuxedo than when it's freezing out...)
Elizabeth Banks, on the other hand, continued to ace the never ending red-carpet test in a strapless black bustier and harem pants with glittering detailing up the side, seemingly straight out of Cinna's arsenal.
Fellow Catching Fire stars Liam Hemsworth, Jeffrey Wright, Jena Malone, Sam Claflin, Philip Seymour Hoffman and more also joined Lawrence at AMC Lincoln Square Theater.
