Kelly Clarkson is mourning the loss of her beloved dog.

The 31-year-old newlywed shared the very sad news of her puppy's passing on Friday, Nov. 15 on Twitter.

"My best friend died yesterday," the singer-songwriter tweeted about her black poodle mix pet pooch in a heartbreaking message. "Joplin was special. He fought his whole life to survive & now he can rest. I loved him."

Clarkson adopted Joplin in May 2011 and shared a heartwarming pic with the new addition on her Facebook page.

"Me and my new puppy Joplin on the set of my photo shoot for my new album," she wrote. "He's adorable!"

The brunette beauty took to Twitter just last month to share a wonderful photo with her "soulmate" pet pooch.

"I'm just gonna say it... he's my soulmate. #joplin #sorrybrandon #hashtag," the American Idol alum captioned the precious pic, where she's giving her pup an "eskimo kiss" while cuddling her furry friend.

Clarkson's then fiancé, Brandon Blackstock, playfully responded to his ladylove's tweet and wrote "bulls--t."

The "Moment Like This" singer and her husband have another dog, Security.
