Lady Gaga has always been an open book.

The pop icon has never been anything but forthcoming about her personal life and made no exception during a recent interview with the BBC.

The New York native discussed a variety of topics during her sit-down, ranging from her sexual experiences to her new "holy trinity."

When asked how she feels about the sexually-charged nature of her music she explained, "In pop music, in that particular sphere, there's a sort of one dimensional quality to sexuality. I don't particularly find myself to be very sexy actually."

And while that does echo a sentiment that Mother Monster has shared throughout her ARTPOP press tour, she took things even further during this interview.

"My earlier experiences with sex were quite perverted and scary, terrifying, fear, it was a sort of terrifying for me but now I have really great sex."

Gaga also explored the intense nature of pop music and compared it to sex, saying, "It's like a c-- shot."

She added, "It is quite masturbatory, it just happens to quick."

But aside from what goes on between the sheets, the singer was rather modest when speaking about her career thus far.

"I don't know if even anything I've ever done is very good, but I don't know if that's the point. It's about the potential."

The 27-year-old credited her new "holy trinity"—artist mentors Marina Abramovic, Robert Wilson and Jeff Koons—for helping her come to that realization.
