Fifty Shades of Grey's Kate Kavanagh: Who Should Play Dakota Johnson's BFF?

Actress still needed to play vivacious blond bombshell opposite Luke Grimes

Anastasia Steele's got her Christian Grey—and she's even got his big brother Elliott, but the girl still needs her best friend!

However, the role of Kate Kavanagh in the Fifty Shades of Grey movie has not yet been filled—which leaves Dakota Johnson's character still searching for her bubbly, vivacious college roommate. 

Dakota's got Jamie Dornan, her hunky onscreen love, to keep her company, but poor Luke Grimes (who plays Christian's brother) is sadly lacking his big screen better half.

E! News reached out to Universal Pictures on Tuesday, Nov. 12, but—sorry to disappoint Inner Goddesses everywhere—the studio had no comment or update as to when Kate will be cast.

Here are some lovely ladies who would be perfect to play Kate!

Kaley Cuoco: This Big Bang Theory beauty and bride-to-be is vivacious and outgoing à la Kate—when she's playing Penny and when she's just being herself! Plus, she's got the kind of beauty that leaves the boys "tongue-tied" and sexy curves, to boot! 

Katrina Bowden: This 30 Rock alum certainly looks the part, and she's totally down to play it! "Playing Anastasia would be out of my comfort zone, but I could see myself playing her best friend," she told EnStarz in a July 2013 interview. "I love the books, so no matter what, I'll be there when the movie opens."

Blake Lively: Ryan Reynolds' wife is a fan favorite to play Kate. She certainly fits the bill aesthetically, and like Anastasia's best friend, she's a total clotheshorse and loves all things fashion.

Julianne Hough: She was fifty shades of red after wearing blackface as part of her Halloween costume. But Julianne was quick to apologize and Fifty Shades of Grey is a much better shade for this effervescent, blue-eyed blonde.

Amber Heard: Johnny Depp's girlfriend is very much a sexy bombshell like Kate. Her delicate features come off well in high definition (and surely 3-D as well, should that option arise). And that hourglass figure—how could you not love that?!
