Avril Lavigne will never forget the day she married Chad Kroeger—but she'll never remember it, either. The "Let Me Go" singer appeared on the Tuesday, Nov. 12, episode of Chelsea Lately to promote her just-released self-titled album, and while there, she opened up about her summer wedding to the Nickelback frontman.
"It was three days long. I don't remember much of that, either! Oops!" Lavigne, 29, laughed. "It was in the South of France. We got married at like 9:00 at night and partied 'til 6 in the morning. And I kind of remember the rest, but don't. I don't know."
The celebration kicked off the moment their friends and family arrived. "We had a bachelor/bachelorette party on an island, which I don't remember—just kidding!" the rocker recalled.
"We slept 'til 5 that day and we had to take a boat. We went all out and wanted the family to have a good time," she continued. "The next day was the rehearsal dinner at the castle, and the following day was the wedding. And everything started really late in the evening."
Given that Lavigne is promoting her latest record in the United States and Kroger's band is touring Europe, the newlyweds have agreed to stay sober when their careers force them to be apart.
"We don't really party when we're away from each other," the twice-wed star said. "We want to cherish it and take good care of it. We have to be responsible at some point!"
