Miley Cyrus' 13-year-old sister debuted a new 'do on Instagram this week, showing off a half-shaven hairstyle—a somewhat odd yet popular trend that originated from EDM extraordinaire Skrillex—through a number of selfies.
Along with photos of the fresh look, Noah posted an Instagram video on Wednesday of the cut as it happened. Fans see the young actress sitting in a salon chair with her hands clasped over her mouth in anticipation of what's about to happen. Then the stylist cuts a large section of her hair off from the right side of her head and, with a look of shock on her face, Noah watches as the hairdresser buzzes off her hair.
However, it seems that not everyone following Miley's sis was a fan of her big change. A few commentators started to throw shade at the young star on her Instagram, causing Noah to defend herself by replying back with a lengthy message.
"Everyone please stop hating on me," she wrote. "I'm my own person I can do whatever I want. Please stop being so mean. Do you think I enjoy reading comments tell[ing] me I'm ugly and I'm trying to be someone I'm not when I'm only being myself. I can't believe the words people are saying to me right now. Please I beg of you just stop."
Noah's words remind us a little bit of what her pop star sibling said when she first debuted her drastic cut in August 2012. Miley wrote, "Never felt more me in my whole life."
