She was a bit shy at first but it looks like Zoe Saldana is finally ready to show off her engagement ring from now-husband Marco Perego.

And to think, it's only three months after her surprise wedding to the Italian artist!

Yes, the Avatar actress finally gave the world a real look at her bling over the weekend at the LACMA fete—and after one glimpse we can't believe she managed to keep the massive gem hidden for so long.

And since she's keeping mum on the jewelry we asked an expert to breakdown all the details. After sizing up the pear-shaped emerald ring, experts estimate the stone to be six to eight carats.

"The current value of the stone should be somewhere between $18,000 to $32,000, depending on the clarity and origin of the stone," Zaven Ghanimian, marketing director of Simon G. Jewelry, tells E! News.

"Muzo emeralds, which come from the Muzo mine in Colombia, are one of the most valuable," he says. "Determining origin is very difficult and can only be done through a lab or actual source. The ring looks like a custom make with .75-to 1.00-carat trillions on each side. The center stone and side stones are in a halo setting with pave diamonds down the shank."

Upping the price are the two smaller diamonds that flank the green gem as well as the micro diamonds along the band. The bling is much fancier than the star's simple gold wedding band, which she first flashed at an event in September. So why did it take so long for Zoe to debut her ring? Judging by how perfectly the emerald matched the green in her Gucci gown, we're guessing it could be as simple as she just couldn't resist not wearing the complementing bling.
