Julianne Hough has apologized via Twitter in the wake of her controversial costume choice for going blackface as a character from Orange Is the New Black at a Halloween party on Friday, Oct. 25.

The Safe Haven star dressed up as Suzanne "Crazy Eyes" Warren from the Netflix series. In addition to the dark makeup, the former Dancing With the Stars pro wore prison orange with a longsleeve gray T-shirt over her hands. She darkened her eyebrows and blond hair, which was styled in knotted nubs just like the fictional prisoner. She completed the look with an ID tag on her chest featuring the TV character, portrayed by Uzo Aduba.

But, that wasn't the only story that had people talking.

Take a look at our five biggest stories of the week!

Hough's brother, Derek Hough, told E! News exclusively on Monday, Oct. 28, that his sister is "mortified" at the backlash she has received.

McIver (who had been known as Blake McIver Ewing but dropped the last part of his name) is also a singer/songwriter, and was trying to make a living as vocal coach, but when business slowed down he decided to start dancing and "in the process, I found it so liberating and empowering."
