Chris Noth Is Not Alone: Find Out Who Else Was Asked to Lose Weight on Sex and the City!

Exclusive! The Carrie Diaries EP Amy B. Harris, who worked on the HBO hit series, reveals that John Corbett was told to shed a few pounds

Chris Noth wasn't the only one who was told to watch his "Big" figure on Sex and the City. 

E! News can report that yet another main actor was told by producers to shed a few pounds while filming the iconic HBO hit, and it wasn't Sarah Jessica Parker, Kim Cattrall, Cynthia Nixon or Kristin Davis. 

It was John Corbett!

The Carrie Diaries executive producer Amy B. Harris (who also worked on SATC) confesses that producers did have a little talk with Carrie Bradshaw's two best-known suitors: Corbett (Aiden) and Noth (Mr. Big). 

"We told Corbett to lose weight between seasons three and four," Harris recalls. "When we talked about whether or not we wanted to see John come back, we basically said we want him to come back so hot that she cannot believe it. Like, he looks so much better after she left him. And we made him lose weight. And then we made Chris lose weight for the movie."

As for the women? Not a word. "It's hilarious," Harris muses. "The women were, like, perfection, and no one ever mentioned anything about their weight ever. It was just the two guys! I think the women were just predisposed to be lucky and didn't have to worry."

The Carrie Diaries just launched its "grown up" sophomore season (the next episode airs tonight on the CW), and although Harris has remained close friends with the cast, including Sarah Jessica, she has resisted the temptation to ask her old SATC friends their opinion of her new show. 

"I feel like now, this show is its own thing," Harris says of Carrie Diaries. "It's so funny because in the first season, I really was so nervous about what the other writers would think, what the other actors would think… I was constantly talking to Michael Patrick [King] about it. But it feels like its own being. It's obviously a prequel to something, but similar to Smallville or Arrow, where you have some source material, and shows just kind of take on a life of their own. So this season, I felt very much like, this is what it is. I think we made great choices last season and the cast is beautiful and wonderful, so it's sort of like, let's just go from there."

The Carrie Diaries' season two started off with a bang with the introduction of Samantha Jones (Lindsey Gort), and we'll see much more of guest star Molly Sims in coming episodes, as she digs her cougar claws into Carrie's first love, Sebastian.

"My dream is to hear from people who have never seen Sex and the City and now want to watch it after seeing The Carrie Diaries," Harris says. "I couldn't be more thrilled with how much the show has come into its own."
