Newlywed Kristen Bell Dishes on Life as a Wife—and Whether She's Planning a Big Bash to Celebrate

Kristen Bell is one content little cookie.

Chatting with E! News at the New York City press junket for the new animated Disney film Frozen, the newlywed pondered the question of whether her life had changed much since she and longtime love Dax Shepard made things official.

"It's slightly more exciting, like it feels like we just had a holiday or something, but not much has changed," she admitted. "But we've been waiting for a long time, and for very specific reasons, and it was small and private and everything that we wanted."

The actors, who are parents to 7-month-old daughter Lincoln, initially opted to put their nuptials on hold until same-sex couples had the same right to marry.

After the U.S. Supreme Court struck down the federal Defense of Marriage Act and paved the way for gay marriage to legally resume in California, Bell and Shepard got re-engaged and secretly tied the knot at the Beverly Hills City Clerk's Office earlier this month.

Confirming the good news, Bell tweeted on Oct. 18, "Wife coffee tastes way better than regular coffee in the morning :) @daxshepard1."

Asked if they were planning a big bash to celebrate after the low-key ceremony, the House of Lies star said that their friends and family "can throw a big party if they want, but I have no desire to. I'm happy."

Besides, that would ruin the discount motif they've got going on!

Appearing on Jimmy Kimmel Live last night, Shepard joked that it cost them $142 "out the door" to get married.

"I don't yet have a ring. I am going to follow your course, because you got your ring at Costco," the Parenthood star teased Kimmel, whose own wedding-guest list included Shepard and Bell.

"Friends of ours came to the courthouse, and it was just Kristen and I at this lonely courthouse, so they brought us this cake afterwards," the actor continued. "'The World's Worst Wedding.' How many people can say they threw ‘The World's Worst Wedding'?"
