Michael Fassbender Says He's Never Considered Himself Good-Looking, Clearly Has Vision Problems

    Michael Fassbender, The Counselor

Perhaps Michael Fassbender needs to take a trip to the eye doctor?

The German-Irish stud graces Elle U.K.'s December issue, and despite the fact that the Hollywood hunk rides a motorcycle, has captured the world's attention by going full frontal for the movie Shame and has acted with (and dated) some incredibly beautiful women, he revealed he doesn't find himself to be particularly attractive.

    No, seriously.

"I've never really thought of myself as good-looking," the 36-year-old hunk confessed (via Pop Sugar). "I think of myself as, you know, all right."

NEWS: Michael Fassbender dishes on dating, not campaigning for an Oscar

While we suggest Mr. Fassbender takes another look in the mirror, the actor revealed that his former insecurities, like many of us, stem from his awkward younger years.

"I used to have bad acne as a teenager, so all of this is a bonus now, the fact that I don't have pimples anymore," he shared. "And my hair was also, you know, unfortunate. I had really long hair. I mean, I tied it back most of the time, but I had all these frizzy bits coming off the top, and whenever I let the hair down, it went like this [indicates big, bushy frizz]."

Although the actor—who was photographed by David Bailey and wears designs by Armani, Belstaff and Givenchy by Riccardo Tisci for the photo shoot—may not see himself as swoon-worthy as we do, he's certainly aware of the over-the-top attention he receives from women now that he's famous.

    NEWS: The Counselor review round-up

"I'm not oblivious to it. It's not like I think I've become more charming or good-looking overnight," he said. "But, no, I haven't lost any respect [for women]. I'm an all right judge of character, so you can figure these things out."

Fassbender's latest flick, The Counselor, in which he stars alongside Cameron Diaz and Penélope Cruz, hit theaters Oct. 25, and his Brad Pitt-produced film, 12 Years a Slave, is also in theaters and is already generating Oscar buzz.

The Inglorious Bastards star's full interview appears in the December issue of Elle UK, which hits newsstands Oct. 30.
