Instead of posting them online a la Nicki Minaj, Urban and his spouse of seven years keep things hot by sexting each other when their jobs force them to be on separate sides of the globe.
Urban, 45, is currently touring and taping American Idol in the United States, while Kidman, 46, is shooting a movie in London. "We never text. We never email," Urban says during the Monday, Oct. 28, episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show. "Phone calls only, which I really love."
The country superstar does make an exception for a certain kind of text, however. "Maybe one cool kind of, you know, a year. One of those kinds of texts, yes, one of those ones with the accompanying photo," he says. "One of those kind of texts."
"What kind of text?" DeGeneres asks. "What do you mean?"
"Nice sex texting," the blushing Aussie explains, adding, "I'm a little red right now."
The couple's two daughters, Sunday, 5, and Faith, 2, are currently in England with Kidman. "I always structure my tours so that I'm never gone for weeks at a time. I'll do three shows in a row, be home for three or four days, go back and do three or four shows, and that works out good until Idol comes along and fills in those days in between," Urban shares. "And that is doable until then a film comes along and that shoots in London. And, we're like, ‘Okay, we'll figure this out.' So, we just make it work."
