Jamie Dornan hasn't officially been cast as Fifty Shades of Grey's leading man (pretty close though—grab a tissue), but it sure seems like he's replacing Charlie Hunnam as Christian Grey.

On Wednesday, Oct. 23—shortly before the news of Jamie's reported new gig exploded—another could-be Christian, Scott Eastwood, let the world know he was brushing up on his erotic fiction.

Yes, Clint Eastwood's hunky 27-year-old son Instagrammed a photo of himself doing a "Little light reading on the flight home" to San Diego. The pic shows Scott—with his smoldering grey eyes, oh my!—reading E.L. James' famed work of fiction.

This photo led to some speculation that perhaps producers hadn't completely locked in on Jamie to play Dakota Johnson's onscreen lover. But even if they are—hard limit—set on having the handsome 31-year-old Irish actor take charge of the Red Room of Pain, there could still be a place for Scott in the racy flick.

Christian's brother Elliot Grey is described as tall, handsome and buff with gorgeous blue eyes—sound like anyone to you? Elliot is said to have curly blond hair as opposed to Scott's straight tresses, but hello, that's what movie magic and Bradley Cooper-esque perms are for.

Is your inner goddess rejoicing yet? Good, but don't let her get too carried away. We only really know Dakota will be playing Anastasia Steele. But if Scott were to land the role of Elliot, every woman alive is going to be clamoring to play Kate Kavanagh!

Whew. Everyone, just have a little faith in [the movie powers-that-be] and a little patience, please.

(E! and Universal Pictures are both part of the NBCUniversal family.)
