It's the end of an era, New Girl fans.

Start preparing yourselves now for a whole new living situation as one of the roommates on the Fox hit sitcom is moving out of the loft! While we teased that either Jess (Zooey Deschanel), Nick (Jake Johnson), Schmidt (Max Greenfield) or Winston (Lamorne Morris) would be moving out and we can now reveal who is packing their bags and leaving a vacant room, which will be soon be filled by Damon Wayans Jr. when he makes his triumphant return as Coach.

In our exclusive video, Schmidt announces it's time for him to move out of the loft! And yes, he uses a Billy Joel reference to make the announcement. Hey, as he once said, Schmidt happens...

Schmidt drops the bombshell on Nick as they are cleaning up after their Halloween party, saying, "I am entering a new chapter of my life and I think it best I do it alone. In the famous words of singer/songwriter Billy Joel, I'm moving out!"

Soon, Nick, Jess and Winston are trying to convince their roomie to stay,  but Schmidt's already found a new place. And what really makes Schmidt's exit real? He packs up the douchebag jar! (Put a $50 in that jar while you're at it, Schmidt!)

"Get your last looks 'cause who knows when we'll see each other again or where," Schmidt says to the group as he walks out. But don't worry, Schmidt isn't going far as his new place is in the same building. On the same floor. Right across the hall.

But Schmidt's departure will bring the return of Coach as Wayans is set to return for at least six episodes. Wayans appeared in the New Girl pilot in 2011, but left the cast when his sitcom Happy Endings (Rest in peace, you beautiful, beautiful show) was picked up by ABC. Morris' character Winston then took his room in episode two.

Also set to appear in season three? Taye Diggs as a "smooth ladies' man" that may just cause some drama between Nick and Jess when our adorkable heroine meets him on a girl's night out, and Jessica Chaffin, one-half of the comedy duo Ronna & Beverly, will play a bus-driving admirer of Winston's in an upcoming episode.

New Girl airs Tuesday at 9 p.m. on Fox.
