Fox Searchlight Let the Oscar buzz begin!
Brad Pitt's latest movie is hitting theatres this weekend and fans (including the one and only Madonna) can't stop raving about the historic drama.
Set in the 1800s, the movie follows Northerner Solomon Northup (Chiwetel Ejiofor) who is kidnapped and later sold into slavery in the South. With Michael Fassbender playing the vicious plantation owner, there's not much hope or freedom for Northup and his family.
With a supporting cast composed of Alfre Woodard, Benedict Cumberbatch, Paul Giamatti and Beast of the Southern Wild's Quvenzhané Wallis, this film could set the bar high for this year's award show race.
