Chace Crawford's reach truly is international.

The former Gossip Girl star was in China last week on a business trip, but he made sure to take some time to visit the Special Education Center of Children's Palace, a school for children with special needs in the city of Guangzhou.

Crawford spent an afternoon with the students in a choir class and arts classes.

"The kids were very excited to have him there and even prepared songs to sing for Chace," a source says. "They also presented him with a piece of artwork drawn by one of the students."

And as soon as word got out Crawford was at the school, several hundred fans rushed over to try to get a photo of the hottie and his autograph.

Crawford also was a guest at the anniversary celebration for the Happy Valley mall, also in Guangzhou.

Crawford is the latest celeb to visit China. Nicole Kidman, Avril Lavigne, Michelle Dockery and Quentin Tarantino were in Macau about a week ago for the Huading Image Awards at the Venetian.

Last month, Crawford was spotted in L.A. filming Undrafted, an indie film about a promising young baseball player costarring Teen Wolf hunk Tyler Hoechlin.
