The receipts are in and Gravity's box office haul was...outta this world! (Get it?)
But it's not all about the money: Sandra Bullock and George Clooney's space thriller earned rave reviews from critics and fans alike (Rotten Tomato clocks it at a fresh 97 percent!) and it's already garnering early Oscar buzz.
Which means it's time for the parodies! This one comes courtesy of Film School Rejects, who reimagine the anxiety-inducing series of unfortunate events as a classic Hollywood rom-com.
Cue the Clooney charm, cue the swooning, cue everyone suddenly wondering, "Wait, why haven't George and Sandy B. starred in a rom-com yet? That would be perfect!"
In other Gravity news, real-life astronaut Buzz Aldrin reviewed the film for The Hollywood Reporter and said he was "so extravagantly impressed by the portrayal of the reality of zero gravity."
"Going through the space station was done just the way that I've seen people do it in reality," Aldrin, the second man to ever walk on the moon, claims. Though he does admit, "We didn't tell too many jokes when people were in some position of jeopardy outside the spacecraft."
His only real critique? "There weren't enough clouds."
Time's Science and Space picked out a few more flaws, the most amusing of which is an issue with Sandra Bullock's space costuming. At one point in the film, she removes her space suit and is wearing a tank top and short shorts.
"In truth, what an astronaut...would have on under her pressure suit would be what's known as a Liquid Cooling and Ventilation Garment," it explains. "A full-body, crazily complex bit of space finery that has about 300 ft. (91 m) of fashionable plastic tubing running through it
The site continues, "She'd also be wearing an adult diaper and would be wringing with sweat. Doesn't matter if you're Bullock, Penelope Cruz or Nicole Kidman, you would not be looking your best."
That's right. The film did not include enough adult diapers.
Or, as they're called by NASA, Maximum Absorption Garments. Which does sound cooler.
