By the looks of it, Robin Thicke has gotten exactly what he hoped for.

The "Blurred Lines" singer weighed in (once again) on his much-talked about MTV VMA performance with Miley Cyrus.

In an interview with Vanity Fair the day after the twerk-filled duet occurred, Thicke explained how he was neither disappointed nor surprised by the occurrence.

"I spent my whole career playing it safe, being a gentleman, never doing anything controversial," he told the mag.

"They told me [beforehand] that Miley's going to take her clothes off and dance around and she might bend over…I just said, I don't care, let's entertain the people."

Thicke added that he was aiming to push the envelope, and knew very well that the former Disney darling's rump shaking would do just that.

"Let's give them something they're not ready for," he added. "Let's make them talk."

    And talk, they did. Endlessly.

Thicke and Cyrus make such a great team and the two may in fact be headed into a recording studio in the future.

"There might be, there might be," Thicke told E! News backstage at the iHeartRadio theatre. "Pharrell was working with Miley when Pharrell and I made ‘Blurred Lines.' He was just finishing up with her when we started recording together."

So will Pharrell be bringing the twosome back together again? Never say never!

"He's been one of the great songwriters and producers of our generation," Thicke said of his longtime pal.

"For him, to him, this resurgence, and for him and I to have this success together, we keep kind of laughing saying, 'Man, this is so great we get to have this together.'"
