Anybody craving some juicy hip-hop beef?
Kendrick Lamar created a lot of buzz after releasing his verse on "Control," when he called out a number of different rappers in the game, but it seems like his freestyle for the 2013 BET Cyphers (those are the greatest, aren't they?!) is a little more personal—at least when it comes to his feud with Drake.
Kendrick's prerecorded rap hit the Internet today, and it quickly became clear that the Nothing Was the Same rapper was one of K.Dot's targets.
Rapping over Mobb Deep's "Shook Ones," Lamar slams Drizzy by saying, "And nothing's been the same since they dropped 'Control'/ And tucked a sensitive rapper back in his pajama clothes/ Ha-ha, jokes on you/ High-five/I'm bulletproof/ Your s--t's a never penetrate/ Pin the tail on the donkey/ Boy, you been a fake."

It seems like heat began brewing between the two after Drake, who was one of the many big names called out in "Control," decided to downplay Lamar's tactic during a few different interviews. In the cover story for Billboard magazine, he said, "It just sounded like an ambitious thought to me. That's all it was. I know good and well that Kendrick's not murdering me, at all, in any platform."
Meanwhile, on LA's hip-hop station Power 106, Drake said, "I'm probably as done as the rest of the world with that record. I think it came and went… Not to discredit it, it was a good moment. But at the end of the day it was one of those fleeting Twitter frenzies. It was cool for what it was."
There was some speculation as to whether or not the YMCMB artist took a hit at Kendrick in his new track "The Language," when he raps, "F--- any n---a that's talkin' that sh-- just to get a reaction/ F--- going platinum, I looked at my wrist and it's already platinum."
However, Birdman, cofounder of Cash Money Records, said he doesn't believe that's the case. "Drake do what he do. He really slick with whatever he do. He makes you think. But I didn't think he put no energy into that," he said on Sept. 25 when he appeared on RapFix Live.
There's no word as to whether or not Drizzy is going to come up with a response for his latest attack or if he's just going to let his latest success speak for itself.
Since its release on Sept. 24, Nothing Was the Same has become the No. 1 album in the country, moving an impressive 658,000 copies.
