Alanis Morissette is speaking out and thanking her fans after being sued by a former nanny who alleges that the singer and her husband, rapper Mario Treadway, held her prisoner while she cared for their newborn.
"grateful for all your heartfelt support around these hurtful and cruel allegations. truthfulness will prevail i love you, x a," the 39-year-old rocker tweeted on Wednesday, Oct. 2.
Ever was born on Christmas Day 2010.
Cambeiro alleges the "You Oughta Know" singer and Treadway locked her in Ever's bedroom as he slept for the duration of her 12-hour shift. She claims the parents refused to let her leave under any circumstance.
The complaint states that Cambeiro wasn't given any breaks, including to eat a meal. The only time she was allowed relief, she claims, was when one of the parents was in the bedroom or if the day-shift nanny arrived to take over.
