iStockFCKH8, the gay rights group that obtained this inspiring letter and posted it on Facebook, captioned it, "Go Grandpa!" And that's really all there is to say about it. So we repeat: Go Grandpa!
The group says "people send us photos and letters and all sorts of stuff every day" and explain that they "were blown away by how this guy stands by his grandson and stands up against his own homophobic daughter. This is real love!"
The letter is from one seriously awesome grandpa and is to his "hurtful, narrow-minded and backwards" daughter, who apparently had just kicked her son out of the house after learning he was gay.

Some have questioned whether the letter is real or not. We choose to believe it is—is it so hard to believe that a grandpa raised "in a different time" would both accept and defend his grandson? If it is fake, it's probably still hopeful encouragement to someone out there actually going through this.
So we guess we're saying we don't care who wrote it. We like the content.
