Like flagship, like spinoff!
The Originals, the highly anticipated Vampire Diaries spinoff, premieres Thursday at 9 p.m. and finds Original siblings Klaus (Joseph Morgan), Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and Rebekah (Claire Holt) leaving the small-town life behind in favor of taking back control of supernatural hot spot New Orleans, a city they helped build. Standing in their way? Klaus' protégé turned nemesis, Marcel (Charles Michael Davis), who actually shares something in common with TVD's Caroline (Candice Accola): He loves to throw a party!
In the new drama's third episode, airing Tuesday, Oct. 15, Klaus and Rebekah break out their finest masks for an extravagant masquerade ball, and we've got your exclusive first look at the duo all dolled up in "Tangled Up in Blue"! Looks like New Orleans will have just as many weekly events as Mystic Falls. To this we say: Bring on the handsome men in suits!
In the episode, estranged siblings Klaus and Rebekah come together in an attempt to unravel Marcel's empire from within after discovering some interesting news about someone very important in the vamp's inner circle. Of course, their brother Elijah has some concerns with their plan, which involves crashing a huge vampire party Marcel is throwing! To piss off the self-proclaimed vampire king of New Orleans, Rebekah sneakily invites Cami (Leah Pipes) to the fangfest. Merely a human, Cami of course shows up dressed as an angel and looks to be quite cozy with Marcel.
But it seems like Marcel and Rebekah share a complicated history. "I wonder if there's a history there...They shared all those years together in New Orleans," executive producer Julie Plec recently teased.
While the Original siblings deal with their Marcel problem, Hayley (Phoebe Tonkin) learns that New Orleans' supernatural creatures are reacting to news of her hybrid baby. Ruh-roh!
The Originals premieres Thursday, Oct. 3 at 9 p.m. before moving to its normal time slot on Tuesday, Oct. 8 at 8 p.m. on the CW.
