Gina Carano is ready to kick some ass again.
The former MMA fighter turned Hollywood action star will be toplining In the Blood, a new thriller that Anchor Bay Entertainment plans to release in 2014 after picking up North American distribution rights.
Per The Hollywood Reporter, the John Stockwell-directed flick will find the 31-year-old Carano playing a wife who hunts down the men she believes is responsible for the disappearance of her husband on their honeymoon in the Caribbean. Of course, she uncovers more than she bargains for in the form of a murky conspiracy.
The brunette beauty, of course, made the jump from former Strikeforce featherweight to big-screen bonecrusher with her starring role as Mallory Kane in Steven Soderbergh's 2011 action-drama Haywire and appeared in this summer's Fast & Furious 6.
In the Blood also features a bevy of veteran character actors including Avatar villain Stephen Lang, Luis Guzman, Treat Williams and Machete himself, Danny Trejo.
Anchor Bay will join forces with 20th Century Fox Home Entertainment to release the movie on Blu-ray, DVD and video on demand.
No word yet on an official release date.
While we're glad to see Carano uncaged, perhaps Sylvester Stallone might tap her for a future Expendables movie?
After all, she did date the Man of Steel.
