Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.: If there's one thing we've learned from Marvel's impressive array of superhero flicks, it's always stay through the credits. And here's hoping viewers stuck around 'til the very end of the ABC hit's second episode, "O-8-4," as Samuel L. Jackson made a cameo appearance as Nick Fury. Huzzah! So why's he stop by? To yell at Coulson (Clark Gregg) and the rest of the team for destroying the plane they were given less than a week ago, of course. "At least we had no snakes on the plane," star Chloe Bennet joked on Twitter.
May we humbly suggest an appearance from Chris Hemsworth as Thor next? The Norse God and Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) were name-checked during the episode, so fingers crossed!
New Girl: Schmidt (Max Greenfield) finally learned that cheaters never win as Cece (Hannah Simone) and Elizabeth (Merritt Wever) learned he was seeing both of them at the same time. "I don't know you," a tearful Cece tells him, while Elizabeth later says, "You broke my heart." So why was he dating both of them? He didn't want to hurt anyone's feelings. Of course, everyone ended up hurt and alone, with Schmidt vowing to break up Nick (Jake Johnson) and Jess (Zooey Deschanel) by episode's end. Hell hath no fury like a reformed douchebag scorned! (Why he is blaming the couple, who learned he was cheating and made him fess up, for his own mistakes is a shrink's problem to work out, not ours.)
The Mindy Project: Don't go, Pastor DJ event planner Casey (Anders Holms). Following a timejump, a cute bob-sporting Mindy's (Mindy Kaling) fiancé Casey returned from Haiti only to reveal he no longer wants to preach, he wants to spin. Though she's hesitant to travel alongside him on his new career path at first (Come on, she licked a fat man's boob sweat at a music festival, people!), she eventually supports his decision. That is until Casey decides he actually wants to be an event planner, proving to Mindy he has no idea what he wants. Cue sad (and slightly rushed) breakup. But how cute was it that he left her a tiny voodoo doll with his face on it, asking her not to use "too many pins"?
But it's hard to be too upset over their split when Happy Endings' Adam Pally made his debut as the office's new OB/GYN Peter Prentiss. He's here. He's fratty (But he went to Dartmouth, so it's totally OK). He's actually good at his job. And he's also now a series regular. Come twirl with us over this news in the comments, won't you?! Line of Night: New Girl's Winston (Lamorne Morris) kind of owned the entire night for us, thanks to his creepy obsession with his new cat Ferguson. First he sang this gem, "Winston and Ferguson about to split some pasta!" and then offered up this beauty of a line when trying to crash the gang's double date: "You know what would be nuts? If I brought my cat, Ferguson, as a date."
