When E! News asked the Real Housewives of New Jersey star if she had any regrets she instantly responded, "Not at all."
"I stand by what I said," she added. "I truly believe in everything I said in it."
The marriage manual received tons of attention for its candid look at her union with Joe Gorga, but not all of the feedback was positive.
In fact, critics found some of the contents of the manual to be controversial at best.
One of the more controversial parts of the book concerns initiating sex with your significant other. Here's an excerpt:
"Men, I know you think your woman isn't the type who wants to be taken. But trust me, she is. Every girl wants to get her hair pulled once in a while. If your wife says "no," turn her around, and rip her clothes off. She wants to be dominated. Women don't realize how easy men are. Just give us what we want."
But Melissa stood by her husband's remarks and explained how his words have been taken out of context.
"I think if you just read the one line that Joe said you might take it the wrong way," she said. "But continue to read and you'll see where it belongs."
But it doesn't end there.
The book goes on to outline how a woman should behave in order to keep her man happy, tips on how to avoid infidelity and much, much more. One example? Melissa explained that she and Joe partake in what they call "maintenance sex."
"There's real passionate sex and maintenance sex. You need them both for a healthy marriage. Maintenance sex keeps the wheels greased, the lines of communication open, and the fights to a minimum."
