Katie Couric is not—we repeat not—replacing Barbara Walters on The View.

The 56-year-old talk show host is clearing up rumors that she will replace Walters on the hit show when she retires in 2014 in an exclusive interview with our own Alicia Quarles.

"No, that's an example I think of a story I guess that was printed and then was repeated that's just not true," Couric tells E! News. "It's very flattering. I'm a big fan of Barbara's and a big fan of the show, but it's completely false."

Couric added, "Again, I think that unfortunately, linking has replaced reporting and it's just a strange way of covering the news."

Rumors began swirling last week after the New York Daily News reported that Couric would move from her own talk show to a seat on The View.

"I love Katie and we are good friends," Walters told E! News of the reports at the time. "She is always welcome as a guest on The View, and I was recently a guest on her show, but there is no truth to the rumor that she will be taking my place on The View."

And there you have it!

So what else does Couric have to say? Check out more of our exclusive interview by watching E! News tonight at 7 and 11:30 p.m.
