Patsy Swayze, mother of late actor Patrick Swayze, died Monday night at her home in Simi Valley, Calif., the Associated Press reports. The choreographer and dance instructor was 86.

No cause of death was given. The sad news comes just two days after the fourth anniversary of Patrick's death.

Born in 1927, Patsy taught dance at the University of Houston for 18 years, in addition to being a choreographer for the Houston Playhouse Center and the Houston Youth Symphony and Ballet Company.

She also founded and directed the Houston Jazz Ballet Company. Some of Patsy's famous students included Jaclyn Smith, Randy Quaid, Tommy Tune and Debbie Allen; she also taught Lisa Niemi Swayze, who married Patrick in 1975. Patsy choreographed several movies throughout her career, including 1980's Urban Cowboy, 1982's Liars Moon and 1998's Hope Floats. She relocated to L.A. after Urban Cowboy became a hit.

Patsy is preceded in death by her husband, Jesse, who died in 1982, her daughter, Vickie, who died in 1994, and her son, Patrick, who died in 2009. She is survived by three children: Don, Sean and Bambi.
