This bird is down.

Kim Zolciak's football player hubby, Kroy Biermann, suffered a torn Achilles tendon in last Sunday's Atlanta Falcons game versus the St. Louis Rams and will be forced to miss the rest of the season.

The 28-year-old defensive end—whose 2011 wedding to the former Real Housewives star was the subject of the Bravo spinoff Don't Be Tardy—has since been placed on injured reserve, according to Access Atlanta.

That means Biermann will still be paid his base salary of $2.4 million thanks to the three-year contract he signed in 2012, despite not playing the remainder of the contests the Falcons have scheduled this fall.

However, the season-ending injury could lead the team to drop the NFL star from its roster next year if it so chooses, which would mean he's out of a job.

But the Montana native, who went pro in 2008, is keeping a positive outlook in light of the career setback, thanking fans on Twitter.

"Nothing will hold me back," he tweeted to one well-wisher.

For her part, Zolciak expressed the same sentiment on her Twitter page.

"My husband is incredibly strong & nothing will slow him down! Never has! Appreciate all the well wishes! He will be back stronger than ever!" she wrote.

The 35-year-old Bravo personality told E! News exclusively in August that she's expecting twins, which will bring her brood to six.

Zolciak, who's been posting pics of her burgeoning baby bump to Instagram, already has two daughters from a previous marriage, 16-year-old Brielle and 12-year-old Ariana, whom Bierman has since adopted.

The athlete and his missus also have two sons—2-year-old Kroy Jr. and 1-year-old Kash.

At least Biermann's recovery will enable him to spend more time at home.
