Exciting news, avid Hunger Games fans!

Lionsgate announced today that Julianne Moore has joined the cast of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Parts 1 & 2.

The 52-year-old Academy Award nominee will play President Alma Coin, the head of District 13 who [spoiler alert!] leads the rebellion against the dictatorship of the Capitol.

Moore will star alongside a cast that includes Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth and Philip Seymour Hoffman in the third and fourth installment of the hit franchise.

"It's official! Please welcome Julianne Moore as ‘President Alma Coin' to the cast of The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Parts 1&2," read the announcement on the film's official Facebook page, which has already received over 35,000 "likes."

Francis Lawrence will be back to direct the final two films, which are based on the novel Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins and tell the story of Katniss Everdeen's (Lawrence) journey as she leads the districts of Panem in a rebellion against the corrupt Capitol.

But as Hunger Games enthusiasts know, Coin's lust for power and ruthlessness comes into conflict with the film's heroine.

The latest casting news comes on the heels of the announcement that Ashlee Simpson's boyfriend Evan Ross has signed on to The Hunger Games: Mockingjay Parts 1 & 2 as Marsella.

Stef Dawnson also recently joined the star-studded cast and is set to play Annie Cresta—the victor from District 4 and love interest of fellow victor Finnick Odair.

And Game of Thrones actress Natalie Dormer will be featured in the franchise as Cressida, the resident director from the Capitol who joins the Districts' revolt.

The second installment in the series, Catching Fire, will open wide Nov. 22.

Mockingjay Part 1 comes out Nov. 21, 2014, and the trilogy will come to an end on Nov. 20, 2015, when Part 2 caps off the action.
