Back in the day, Alec Baldwin played The Shadow. But if you ask him what life is like as a new dad, he might as well be "invisible."
Turning up on The Late Show With David Letterman Thursday night, the former 30 Rock star dished on fatherhood and how he's essentially been relegated to the background with the arrival of baby Carmen, whom he and wife Hilaria welcomed last month.
"No one even sees that I'm there anymore. I thought about taking off all my clothes and sitting nude at the breakfast table," Baldwin told the funnyman (via The Huffington Post). "They definitely prefer their mother to you. It's very lonely."
At 55, the veteran actor also noted the big age difference between his little bundle of joy and 17-year-old daughter Ireland Baldwin, his first child with ex-wife Kim Basinger who still has yet to meet her little sis.
"It's weird, you know?" mused Baldwin. "We're going to hand her this 3-week-old baby and say, 'This is your sister.'"
While the budding model has been gallivanting around the globe on various photo shoots, Baldwin meanwhile has been gearing up for his new gig as host of Up Late With Alec Baldwin, a weekly primetime MSNBC talk show, which will begin airing on Fridays at 10 p.m. ET in October.

Consequently according to The Hollywood Reporter, the thespian will end his WNYC podcast Here's the Thing after two seasons. Though sources told the trade he may very well revive the program—where he interviewed a slew of notable New Yorkers—on MSNBC's digital platform.
"This is not Brokeback Mountain 25 years later," joked the star.
"What can we learn from this, Alec?" wondered Letterman.
"That the stop and frisk policy is working in New York," he replied.
After Letterman sympathized with his situation, noting the shutterbugs were hounding he and his missus right after Hilaria had just given birth, Baldwin said this wasn't the first run-in they've had with the paparazzo in question.
"He backed up and tripped and fell on a baby in a stroller—and sat on a baby," hesaid. "We were like, we'd had it with this guy. So I stopped and I frisked him."
