Looks like Queen Bey's got some dissenters when it comes to her latest 'do!

Beyoncé made headlines when she swapped her long locks for a pretty pixie cut last month, and again shortly thereafter when she added a bit of length for a wavy bob

Being the trendsetter that she is, it wouldn't be too far-fetched to assume lots of gals would follow suit and chop their hair, right?

Not according to celebrity hairstylist Adam Reed, who thinks those who copy the singer's sassy cut will only end up looking sadly out of style.

"I am afraid that, although I think that it suits Beyoncé, that type of long bob is a bit dated," the hair guru told Cosmopolitan.

For those looking to go short, Reed recommends turning to a few other short-haired gals.

"To keep it up to date you will need to look at Karlie Kloss for inspiration, soft, shattered and face framing," he advised.

Or better yet, take a beauty note from pixie cut poster girl Michelle Williams, whose current cut will emerge as one of fall's biggest hair trends, according to Reed.

"Michelle Williams in the Louis Vuitton ads!" he gushes when asked about the season's must-have hairstyle. "It is soft and feminine and on the longer side of short without being a bob, although there is nothing wrong with a bob if you keep it soft—think Karlie Kloss. Add color to define and add texture, adding a soft invisible gradient."
