Ariana Grande has some strong pipes, but they need to take it easy at the moment.
The 20-year-old singer has had to cancel some appearances and lie low for a bit after suffering from a hemorrhaged vocal cord, E! News confirms.
"First day off in forever... Vocal rest and watching movies in with my best friend @ dunno what I'd do without her," Grande tweeted, and later added, "Thank you guys for the well wishes, I'll be better in no time... just need some rest."
However, if there's a way to continue working without straining her voice, she'll do it! We know what you're thinking..."She's a singer, hello!"
Just take last night as an example (plus, if there was a singing gig, maybe one of her friends could fill in?). Although Ariana was told to rest her voice, she continued to go through with an interview on KIIS FM last night, but she managed to do it without breaking any rules—thanks to technology.
"ALERT: @ArianaGrande joins me next via on @! She's on voice rest, computer will do the talking!! Not kidding," radio deejay JoJo Wright tweeted. "Look who dropped by... @arianagrande!!! (I'm on the left) LOVE HER!!!...Why I LOVE @: on voice rest, se we used text2voice! Warning: COMPUTER CURSES!!!"
Aside from her unfortunate injury, Grande has had a pretty awesome week after receiving some great news yesterday. The young singer's first album, Yours Truly, debuted at No. 1 on the Billboard 200 chart!
"My 1st album has debuted at #1 & I can't even begin to express my gratitude. Thank you for supporting my music, this really means the world," she tweeted.
Congratulations! Now just make sure to take it easy so we can hear more hit records.
