Forget Shia LaBeouf. Bumblebee's got a new buddy and his name's Mark Wahlberg.

The 42-year-old Hollywood star is getting in gear for his role in Michael Bay's Transformers: Age of Extinction as he and costar Jack Reynor were snapped Sunday in Chicago shooting a scene while riding inside the yellow-and-black Chevy Camaro that transforms on the big screen into everyone's favorite Autobot Bumblebee.

The upcoming fourth installment in the Transformers franchise is said to take place four years after the climactic battle between the Autobots and Decepticons that pretty much leveled Chicago.

The erstwhile Fighter plays Cade, a single father and struggling mechanic who, along with his daughter Tessa (Nicola Peltz), makes a discovery that brings the warning robots down on them. Reynor, a 21-year-old American-born Irish actor plays Tessa's race car driver boyfriend.

The sequel reunites Wahlberg with his Pain & Gain director and is set to launch a new trilogy featuring an all-new cast of characters with the sole leftover from the first three films being Peter Cullen, who returns to voice Autobot leader Optimus Prime.

A poster for Extinction also just hit the web recently which hints at some other welcomed additions—the toy line's famous Dinobots. News of the those characters joining the flick was subsequently confirmed by producer Lorenzo di Bonaventura to Beijing News (via Tformers.com).

Transformers: Age of Extinction, which also costars Stanley Tucci and Kelsey Grammer and is being filmed in both the U.S. and China, hits theaters on June 27, 2014.
