Viola Davis' prayers for a husband were answered. Literally.
The 48-year-old actress opened up to Essence magazine, revealing that she prayed for a man to be in her life.
"I asked for a husband who was emotionally available, someone who was older, someone who maybe had a family before," the Oscar nominee said. "I like older men. Someone from the South. Someone who loves God more than he loves himself."
And then only three weeks later, there he was! Actor and ex-football player Julius Tennon from Austin, Texas.
So, what did they do for one of their first dates?
"He took me to church," she said.
Davis and Tennon were married in 2003 and adopted a daughter in 2011.
Davis first told Page Six in February while promoting her film Beautiful Creatures that she prayed for the perfect man.
"I was the loneliest woman in the world, and someone said, 'You should just pray for a husband.'"
Bet she's happy she took that advice!
